若い企業ほど「月次決算のススメ」
今年も、1ヶ月あまりとなりました。
時間の早さを実感しています。
”時間”といえば、社歴の短い会社においては、その事業計画を組む際のキャッシュフローをどのように予測すれば良いのか、開業してからの期間が短いため難しいケースがあります。
たとえば、開業して1年半ほどたった会社で、今後拡大戦略をとりたい。
金融機関からの資金調達を行なうために事業計画の策定を求められた。
こういった場合、決算書としては、まだ1年目のものしか、策定されていません。
そのため、単純に1年目の決算書を使用して、キャッシュフローを予測する。
それで終わってしまって良いのでしょうか？
私は、こういった企業の場合は、その成長のカーブが見えるような形でのキャッシュフローの予測が必要であると考えます。
特にはじめは、投資のため創業赤字で開始することが予想され、その黒字化のスピードが重要だからです。
そのためには、会計期間をもっと短く、たとえば月次単位ぐらいで見ていく必要があります。
しかし、大概の会社は月次決算は、行なわれていないと思います。
そのため、各月の正常な収益力が見えなくなっていくことがあります。
たとえば、減価償却費、固定資産税、保険料等といった、まとまった支出については、それを対応する期間に固定費として配分することによって、初めて、その各月の損益分岐といったものが見えてきます。
つまり、社歴の短い会社ほど、その収益力を示すために、実は月次決算が必要なのかも知れませんね。
